CHAPTER 21 â STREETS AND TREATS AND BACK ROOM DEALS
Ley lines, the hidden battery that powers all things. They have been dormant on Earth for a hundred thousand years at least. The Dream is a symbiotic entity that feeds from the emissions of Ley Lines while also nourishing them; a circuit, a cycle, a snake chewing a trail or even a tail.
It is within the symbiosis between the two that creates the System or the avenues with which living entities can tap both, allowing them their Gifts, Tricks and abilities. As soon as the Dream appeared upon the horizon and filled the sky, the Ley Lines of Earth were awoken.
They are the life of the universe. For any planet to sustain existence, they must also have Ley Lines within their foundation, awake or asleep, it matters not. Even in the heavy hits of a deep nap, they emit a small trickle of their pulse, breath, into the breadth and limbs of all that moves and thinks.
A myriad of planets in the wide cosmos have such a boon and it has on occasion been a bridge or gap tether between worlds, between the multiplicity of dimensional ethos. An endless frequency of existence layered on top of one another with only a thin film of tonal notes separating one from the other. The symphony is ever eternal, ever beautiful, ever intoxicating.

She was about ready to explode. The Hound had drilled her for almost a day straight, only allowing her to sleep for a few hours, before going right back into it. She had tried to explain to him about her Trick but he didnât seem to grasp it. Her voice raged against the confines of the Beast.
âLook, Iâve told you. Itâs not like Iâm watching an old Vid where everything is nice and clear and sequential. It is a jumbled group of flashes and like a bunch of pieces of a puzzle all thrown together in a pile. I can get the gist usually of what it means but...alright, for example, the vision that led us to you. All I got was a general direction and the images of a storm and a hound looking all bad ass and a feeling of safety. And as Iâve said to you a hundred fucking times. It takes a lot of my Spirit to get it going so no, no, no, I do not want to do it again. Quit talking to me like Iâm a dog youâre trying to teach to shake paws.â
She had finally, at her Brotherâs incessant asking on repeat, activated the armor in the band. She wished she had done so earlier to be honest. It had a internal temperature gauge that would always keep the wearer at a comfortable place. Currently, cooped up in the Beast, it was cooling her, which was beautiful.
She took a breath and the Hound finally took a step back and got out of her grill. This final outburst from her might of finally hammered through to the pain in her ass.
